Thoughts Part II

What are your guys' thoughts on Social Security and Medicare (or the overall health-system)? I have general knowledge on both, just wondering where you all stand and how you feel about them. Personally, Social Security needs to be reformed or something else to take its place and the health0care system needs to be reformed as well. How to do it, I'm not sure yet, but you can bet that I'll be researching this over the course of this semester. Happy Valentines Day, eat some chocolate.

  1. I forgot about the blog for a bit, so I apologize for the late reply.

Social Security: I agree it needs to be fixed,if only because our generation can't afford to support the baby boomers.

Health care system:...Dear god it needs to be fixed. The same goes for our education system, there's no reason for the United States to have such a shitty health system. I don't understand why our country is so opposed to universal health care. I can kind of see where they're coming from that just adding more government paperwork to the problem, probably wont exactly FIX the problems. But I also think a lot of people have issues accepting the fact that not everyone is a naturally good person. Our health care system is such that you HAVE TO have health insurance, or you will get sick and die. That being said, insurance companies are just like any other business...they need to make a profit. So the bottom line is that they don't care about the country's health, they just care about the profit.

  2. Because we are Americans and we don't give a shit!-As Kile would say (lol), But I agree Social Security was supposed to be temporary...well too bad for that as we all need it and it needs to be revamped. As for the health-care and education system=DEFINITELY. There's no need for these neo-bureaucratic practices that have confined the sharing of health care it makes no sense along with the school systems. George Soros plainly puts it: "When a profession becomes a business, it ceases to be a profession." Common Sense lol
