I say that we should create a roleplaying system that would fit all our crazy needs. taking the thrills, darkness, and evil from the Warhammer world, mechanics from DnD, and a few ideas from video games like World of Warcraft: for example classes, the way the spells work and talents.
It's just a thought and I find it quite disturbing that we should create something that seems semi-unrealistic and actually create a different world. DnD takes actuality in play, i applaud them, Dark Heresy takes it into the future with daemons and lots of darkness, more applauding. And I find the spell crafting in WoW to be quite amazing. Like the mana pool seems like a fairly good idea and I think should be considered.
I know none of us are going to have the time on our hands to do this just yet but I find it an interesting thought at the moment. Because I'm pretty sure we all have certain classes that can be improved and become much better in game. I like the idea where we create a system upon our own needs then abiding by a system that has so many rules that are all common sense and we generally don't use them in the first place.
Food for thought I guess. :P
Fersure, that would sound sick
ReplyDeleteIm a big magic guy and im kinda depressed that i havent found a tabletop game with the magic uses i want to utilize
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a realist player, that's why fantasy is not my forte. I'm sure there is one out there, or we DEF should collab on a system for us all. Plus Nicodemus's campaign is going good, but alot of my time is on Dark Heresy right now. Man, this is gonna be a sick campaign!
ReplyDeleteI so want to be a crazy cleric...
ReplyDeleteWe could create a barrier between realism and fantasy, and the past, present, and future for fantasy and realism. Like realism would have everything that we have today then if we wanted to play with magic, monsters, and other things, we could just 'flip the switch'. I also see a great opportunity for a zombie addon and expansions with this idea, and good versus evil, church against all or some such. I realize this may sound a little like some other games but it doesnt have the opportunity that would allow 'flipping the switch' and adding things that would make it more interesting.
ReplyDeleteI love fantasy and i know mike likes the reality but what if we made a system that revolves and meets together equally and on the same level( one not too powerful over the other) so we can utilize both?
well, that would be cool but alot of work. I don't mind if we do go a fantasy route, just gonna have to make a faction or something that can rival magic users >:D. Like Dragon Age does a great job theory wise with the templars, but they are just not up to par in game. . .
ReplyDeleteAgreed. And i realize it will take a long time but i believe it will be worth it in the end, and if i see opportunity, maybe even see about publishing. Money money money money......
